good news was the winds blew and it did some damage but all is well, oh, my god, the levies just broke. oh, by the way, there's an earthquake or a tsunami or a nuclear critical accident that's occurred somewhere overseas. how will we respond to that? and then let's bring it closer to home, how did we marry up the capabilities that exist because there is no greater tragedy than to have robust capabilities, mellow medical, logistical or otherwise. you are better prepared with every one of these meetings, you are better prepared with every networking that happens in the hallways and exchanging business cards but you will never be absolutely prepared. what we're doing here today and in future events is a journey, it is not a destination. we will never be able it high five ourselves and say we have everything figured out and we'll be able to solve it the minute it happens. ask anyone who has been in the throes of a complex medical emergency. i congratulate you on leaning forward and recognizing the next nightmare scenario may be around the corner and our job, the american people have come t

new twist could put the conviction in the chandra levy murder case in doubt. we have details now. >> reporter: jim, tonight, sources tell news 4 prosecutors have presented a judge in the case new evidence. that could reportedly taint the testimony of a key witness in the trial. back in 2010, he was convicted of killing 24-year-old chandra levy, a former intern with the federal bureau of prisons. levy disappeared in the summer of 2001 and her body was found a year later. her murder gained national attention, as you mentioned, when a relationship with former california congressman gary c condit came to light. he was never charged with any wrongdoing. the murderer was in jail and had been linked to a number of assaults on women in rock creek park. there's still a lot we don't know tonight about the new informion in this case. there have reportedly been two secret meetings between the judge and prosecutors. something that is very unusual, according to veteran defense attorney richard finchy. >> the secrecy, it's reported is a result of the judge not wanting there to be public disclos
